With pride, Walid Mushantaf contemplates his family land in Aabra. Here, high above Saïda, stretch as far as the eye can see the 6,000 olive trees he has planted since 2008 to fulfill his dream: producing olive oil. 17 years and 20 awards later, he succeeded, with his brand Bustan el Zeitoun. This year alone, his production has earned him three gold medals at the World Olive Oil Quality Competition (New York, USA), the EVOOLEUM competition (Cordoba, Spain), and the Olive Japan International Extra-Virgin Olive Oil Competition. Combining modernity and tradition, his production pays homage to the local know-how which, as he puts it so well, is part of the Lebanese heritage.
