Families of Beirut Port blast victims are protesting in front of the Justice Palace to condemn the perceived obstruction of the investigation.

William Noun, the brother of one of the victims, stated to local media that while the protest would follow a similar pattern to previous ones, the victims’ families are determined to escalate their actions in quest for a fair probe.

“We are determined to complete the investigations,” Noun said.

He went on to say, “We do not want the investigation results to remain unknown, and that’s our primary concern. The Supreme Judicial Council took over the case, and the developments within are yet to be revealed.”

He voiced confidence in Judge Suhail Abboud but said that not all judges deserve to be trusted. “Judge Ghassan Owaidat is obstructing and preventing the completion of the investigation,” he claimed.

“Judge Owaidat is influencing the decision of the Supreme Judicial Council, but our priority today is far from naming judges because all we want is to proceed with the investigation,” he stressed.
