The Ministry of Finance reminded the government of “the need to work on securing the necessary funds to cover salaries, wages and pensions for the remaining period of 2023, noting that salaries, wages and pensions for the month of June were duly disbursed to localization accounts with banks.”

The Ministry of Finance supported the statement by explaining that this reminder comes “since the draft general budget for the year 2023 has not been approved to date, and because the Ministry of Finance had prepared a draft law to open additional appropriations to secure salaries and wages for the remainder of the year 2023 and was referred to the Council of Ministers, which referred it to the House of speakers for due approval, and since the necessary appropriations to secure pensions can be opened by a decree adopted by the Council of Ministers.”
