Initial estimates reveal that over 1.5 million tourists are expected to visit Lebanon this summer, compared to 1.2 million last year. Reservation rates on airlines bound for Beirut are around 90% and are likely to reach 100%, according to industry experts.

Jean Abboud, the President of the Association of Travel and Tourist Agents in Lebanon, confirmed in a statement that the year 2023 is witnessing a boom in terms of arrivals. He emphasized that all indicators show that Lebanon is heading towards a promising summer, considering the numerous bookings to Lebanon from around the world. This year is also marked by significant bookings, especially after Middle East Airlines (MEA) inaugurated the Beirut-Madrid route, which will be used by many Lebanese coming from Brazil, South America, Canada, and Africa.

Abboud estimated that the coming season would witness a high percentage of Lebanese, Arab, and European tourists. Abboud mentioned that around 55 airlines currently serve Beirut Airport. However, with the continuous increase in bookings, it is likely that this number could increase to 66.
