On Tuesday, the Internal Security Forces released statistics on major crimes committed during the months of January, February, March and April of 2023. The numbers indicate a notable decline in crime rates, compared to the same period last year.

ISF spokesperson Joseph Moussallem attributed the drop in crime rates to police “engagement, capacities, integrity and determination to fight criminality and protect our community.”

Moussallem stated that ISF agents were coordinating with other security agencies across Lebanon.

Commenting on the constant stream of crimes circulating traditionally and on social media, Moussallem said: “we want the people to be alert, not afraid, and to help in fighting crime.”

The ISF has an emergency hotline, 112, for eyewitnesses to report crimes.
