On Monday, the Saydet el-Jabal Gathering criticized Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah’s most recent speech given last Friday. Commenting on Nasrallah’s discourse, Saydet el-Jabal stated that Hezbollah’s Secretary-General “seeks to prove that, in light of the changes taking place in the region, the Iranian axis has prevailed and that the Lebanese state will therefore be shaped based on conditions imposed by this victory.”

In this context, the Saydet el-Jabal Gathering asserted that Nasrallah’s speech indicates “that the next President will be elected by Hezbollah and will work to safeguard the party’s interests at the expense of the Lebanese people”. They added: “Regardless of regional developments, our position remains the same. Lebanon is under Iranian occupation, and we will confront this occupation whatever the circumstances.”

Furthermore, the Saydet el-Jabal Gathering added: “Marginal confrontations against one candidate or another, for the Presidential or Prime Minister positions, are futile and will not lead to change in the current situation.”
