The Caretaker Minister of Energy and Water, Walid Fayad, took the decision on Friday evening to allow fuel pricing in USD in gas stations according to the dollar exchange rate determined by his Ministry.
This decision comes in response to the demand of gas stations owners who believe that pricing in USD will facilitate transactions, including exchange operations, especially since the process of purchasing fuel is done in USD.
The consumer will be practically able to pay for his gasoline in USD or LBP at the exchange rate indicated by the Ministry.
