The presidency of the Council of Ministers formed Tuesday a committee to study rental allowances for government buildings that are leased for the benefit of the state.

Headed by caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati, the Committee includes the Caretaker Ministers of Justice, Finance, Interior, Education, Public Works, Energy, Social Affairs, Health and Agriculture, and Mr. Nicolas Nahas and Mr. Samir Daher.

The committee’s task is to study the subject of rental allowances for government buildings leased for the benefit of the state and to submit proposals to find a comprehensive solution to address the proposed increase in rental allowances by landlords, taking into consideration the financial situation of the state treasury.
