One of Syria’s most renowned drug traffickers Merhi Al-Rothman dubbed “The Captagon Emperor”, was killed on Monday by airstrikes in South of Syria.

According to Reuters, intelligence sources in the region and one western diplomatic source confirmed that the narco-trafficker had close ties to Hezbollah. He was in charge of transporting drugs from the South of Lebanon to their intended locations.

The same sources confirmed that the two airstrikes were committed by Jordanian forces, and targeted two separate locations. The first strike targeted a Captagon factory in Daraa, a location to which Hezbollah agents supposedly transfered payments.; while the second target, near the Jordanian borders with Syria, was the location of Al-Rothman’s home in which he was killed.
