With the deterioration of the situation in Lebanon and the intensification of bombardments, citizens fear shortages of all kinds, especially of fuel, as the Lebanese cannot forget the summer of 2021 and its gasoline shortages. On Monday afternoon, queues formed outside several gas stations. But there’s no reason to panic just yet, as gasoline and heating oil are available.

Contacted by Ici Beyrouth, the president of the Association of Oil Importing Companies, Maroun Chammas, assured that “gasoline stocks are sufficient for around 25 days, taking into account what is stored in depots and at consumers’ premises.” He added, however, that consumption would have to remain normal, without consumers rushing to buy gasoline, and that shipping lanes would have to be kept open to allow cargo ships to unload.
