Caretaker Agriculture Minister, Abbas Al Hajj Hassan, and representative of the World Food Program (WFP), Abdallah Wardat, signed on Wednesday a cooperation agreement on a project to combat food and nutritional insecurity.
In a statement, the Agriculture Ministry declared that the WFP proposes to provide a package of technical assistance aimed at achieving the following objectives:
– Help the Ministry produce reliable, sustainable, and timely information and analysis on food security and nutrition to facilitate the development of effective national and regional policy interventions.
– Strengthen the ability of the Ministry to deliver integrated programs to support the resilience and livelihoods of the most vulnerable Lebanese and displaced communities.
– Build a strong partnership with the agricultural sector in Lebanon.
