The Association of Banks in Lebanon (ABL) is working to guarantee depositors’ rights in the short term while awaiting definitive solutions, it said in a statement issued on Tuesday, following a meeting between its board of directors and Banque du Liban’s Interim Governor Wassim Mansouri and deputy governors.
They discussed the best possible solutions to guarantee depositors’ rights in the short term, pending definitive solutions while preserving the continuity of the banking sector.
They agreed to continue their cooperation on several topics requiring further study to enable the objectives to be achieved as quickly as possible.
