DiGen Art Gallery inaugurates Digital.ME, an innovative exhibition showcasing 11 digital artists from the Middle East, exploring the theme of self-representation through various forms of digital art. The exhibition is on view in Beirut, Monday to Friday from 11 am to 7 pm, and on Saturdays by appointment, until September 6, 2024.
Digital.ME exhibition by DiGen Art Gallery highlights the works of 11 talented digital artists from Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Iran. These artists were selected from over 50 candidates following an open call in February 2024 on the theme of self-representation. The showcased works employ various digital art forms, including artificial intelligence, creative coding, illustration, and animation.
Among the featured artists are Gaia Azzi (Lebanon), Chris Bitar (Lebanon), Fabin Rasheed (UAE), Gregory Taousson (Lebanon/France), Yasmina Boustani (Lebanon), Zolfaqqari (Iran), Fai Ahmed (Saudi Arabia), Gorilla Sun (Ahmad Moussa) (Lebanon/Germany), Rex (Saudi Arabia), Khaled (Saudi Arabia), and GingerPotter (Lebanon). Each artist brings a unique perspective and style to the digital art scene.
The Digital.ME exhibition is designed to captivate visitors with a rotating display. Every 10 minutes, three different artists present their unique digital works on a large screen, creating a dynamic and immersive experience.

Self-portraiture, a long-appreciated genre in art history, offers an intimate glimpse into the minds and cultural landscapes of artists. In the era of virtual platforms like Instagram and X, where our identities are increasingly digitized, these digital canvases challenge and expand traditional notions of identity, highlighting our experiences, aspirations, and constructed personas.
Artists from the MENA region, with their rich and diverse cultural backgrounds, possess a deep understanding of the fluidity of identity. They navigate between the cultural norms of their home countries and the customs adopted in their current residences. The Digital.ME exhibition explores how digital art serves as a powerful means of personal expression, enriching our identities in a borderless age.
