The entertainment world in Lebanon lost one of its brightest stars, Fadi Ibrahim, who passed away on Monday at the age of 67. His passing marks the end of an era for Lebanese television, in which he shone brilliantly.

Born in 1956 to an Australian mother and a Lebanese father, Fadi Ibrahim began his acting career in 1980 with the role of a foreigner in the series Al-Motwa7esh, displaying exceptional talent that would soon establish him as a pivotal figure in Lebanese drama. His participation in major works such as Kul elhub kul elghram, Bride of Beirut season 3, A’nbar 6, Al-saher, and Alakat Kasa, as well as Egyptian productions, the most recent being Qarit Al-Fanjan in 2021, speaks to the diversity and richness of his career.

But behind the stage lights, Fadi Ibrahim fought a relentless battle against diabetes, a merciless disease that ultimately led to the amputation of a leg and a hand. Despite these devastating trials, he continued to show remarkable resilience and strength of spirit, and remained an inspiration to all those fortunate enough to cross his path.

The news of his admission to intensive care shook the artistic community and his many admirers, who were called upon to pray for him and to donate their blood in a show of support. Unfortunately, despite many efforts, the esteemed actor passed away, taking with him a part of the soul of Lebanese television.

Tributes have poured in from all sides, underlining Fadi Ibrahim’s profound impact on the world of art. Lebanese presenter Carla Haddad expressed her sadness in bidding farewell to this star of Lebanese drama, mentioning his constant smile and special presence. Rabia Al Zayyat, also a television presenter, paid tribute to his talent, his work and his morals, stating that he will remain an important part of our memories and one of the creators of the glory of Lebanese drama.

Fadi Ibrahim’s battle against diabetes and the consequences he endured highlight the challenges faced by those with chronic diseases, and the need for increased awareness and support.

The artistic community, his friends, his family and his admirers mourn the loss of a man who was much more than an actor, he was a source of inspiration, a brave fighter and a true friend.
