The full Hunter’s Moon cast an ethereal glow on the Giza necropolis, providing a celestial backdrop to the third edition of the Forever is Now art exhibition by Art d’Égypte. The exhibition unveiled its artistry in an open sky on October 28, 2023.

The Forever is Now celestial event enhanced the ambiance of the artwork displayed, creating an interplay of history, art, and nature.

Egyptian artist Mohamed Banawy unveiled his installation titled As Above, So Below, which seemed to converse with the moonlit sky, embodying the connection between the terrestrial and the cosmic. Another piece that drew significant attention was The Ghost Temple, crafted by the British-Egyptian artist Sam Shendi, a contemporary juxtaposition to the ancient pyramids. Meanwhile, the enigmatic piece Reality is Timeless by Bahraini artist Rashid al-Khalifa provoked reflections on the permanence of the pyramids contrasted against the fleeting nature of life.

French artist JR showcased Inside Out, an artwork challenging perceptions, while RA by Dutch artist Sabine Marcelis played with light and form in homage to the Egyptian sun god. The Belgian sculptor and painter, Arne Quinze, brought forth Aurora, a piece shimmering with hues that resonated with the colors of the twilight sky.

Visitors also had the privilege of witnessing Greek artist Dionysios as he posed amidst his contemplative installation titled Meditation. The sweeping expanses of the Giza plateau also saw Greek artist Costas Varotsos walking by his reflective piece Horizon. This immersive artwork beckoned viewers to gaze both inward and outward, aligning with the vast horizon of the desert. Lastly, Temple, a sculpture by French artist Stephan Breuer, evoked both reverence and modernity, blending seamlessly into the ancient environment.

In this remarkable setting, where millennia-old pyramids met contemporary art, the Forever is Now exhibition succeeded in bridging eras, geographies, and artistic sensibilities. The brilliance of the Hunter’s Moon only underscored the timeless allure of the Giza pyramids and the boundless creativity of the human spirit.
