Over the weekend, the Lebanese capital has hosted the “Rap and Beyond” festival, in which 10 women and non-binary artists from the Arab world performed on stage. This special edition of the “Beirut and Beyond festival” was organized in partnership with the Swedish Institute, the Swedish Embassy in Lebanon, and the National Museum of World Culture in Sweden. Moroccan, Tunisian, Egyptian, Sudanese, and Lebanese artists, each representing different backgrounds, came together with a shared message: rap has no gender. It was also an opportunity for these artists to collaborate and form friendships.
