Female rappers from several Arab countries have been invited to Lebanon to collaborate in an artists’ residency and perform. They are all taking part in the Beirut and Beyond festival, which has been promoting independent music productions from the Arab world since 2013. This year, the organizers have made it a priority to highlight women and non-binary individuals, who are minorities in the world of rap and hip hop. The event is being held in partnership with the Swedish Institute, the Swedish Embassy, and the National Museums of World Culture based in Sweden.
