Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday that Israel will keep hitting Iran-backed Hezbollah "wherever necessary,” the day after Israeli strikes pummelled Lebanon.
"We are continuing to strike Hezbollah with force, precision, and determination," Netanyahu said on his personal X account.
"Our message is clear: anyone who acts against Israeli civilians -- we will strike them. We will continue to hit Hezbollah wherever necessary, until we fully restore security to the residents of the north" of Israel, he added.
Ground Skirmishes Continue
According to a post on X by IDF Arabic spokesperson Avichay Adraee, Israeli forces discovered underground tunnels and facilities in southern Lebanon from which a Hezbollah combatant emerged and was neutralized, along with explosives, rocket launchers, RPGs, and hand grenades.
Additional Hezbollah positions were raided, yielding more weapons, while the 215th Fire Brigade reportedly eliminated over 70 militants, including a cell planning mortar attacks.
The Israeli Air Force struck a Hezbollah-controlled building, neutralizing two Hezbollah militants attempting to enter, and several anti-tank missile launch sites, observation points, and command centers were destroyed.
The Nahal Brigade also seized large stockpiles of weapons and demolished dozens of Hezbollah positions, including anti-tank rocket positions aimed at Israeli forces.
Meanwhile, the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) reported several strikes in southern Lebanon, and Hezbollah issued two statements claiming attacks on IDF forces and Israeli territory.
