Israel and Hezbollah continued their attacks overnight from Tuesday into Wednesday morning, including in areas of Lebanon without significant Hezbollah activity.
Israel stated that it had struck around 60 targets in Lebanon “belonging to the Hezbollah and Hamas organizations.”
An Israeli strike hit Aramoun and Bshamoun—southeast of Beirut—overnight on Wednesday. In addition, Israel carried out a raid on the Saadiyat area in Mount Lebanon. Lebanese officials later confirmed 6 were killed in these attacks.
Aramoun and Saadiyat are not areas strongly associated with Hezbollah.
Arabic spokesperson to the Israeli army Avichay Adraee also issued an evacuation call to residents of 16 towns in southern Lebanon ahead of an attack, later targeting Hezbollah militants operating in the area.
Baalbek saw another Israeli attack early on Wednesday morning in the al-Asira area, where an Israeli strike hit a four-story building, killing 4 people.
Israel also hit a hotel in Hazmieh, near Beirut, which is a predominantly Christian area.
The Lebanese Health Ministry stated that Israel had killed at least 50 people in strikes since Monday.
Hezbollah Attacks Israel
Hezbollah targeted Israel’s naval base at Haifa on Tuesday evening with “a barrage of high-quality missiles,” the organization said. Israel stated that most of the missiles were shot down.
In a statement on its strikes, Hezbollah added that they carried out attacks “in response to the criminal Israeli aggression that struck dozens of Lebanese cities and towns, including Beirut's southern suburbs.”
Hezbollah also fired missiles towards Metula in Israel’s far north along the border with Lebanon, which Israel intercepted.
