At the Central Military Club in Manara, Ali Al Zoobi and Lindzi Nader dominated a record-breaking edition of the Lebanese Triathlon Championship, which gathered around 150 athletes and was marked by strong podiums across all categories — from the elite to the U23s and even the 60+ age group.

Beirut pulsed to the rhythm of transitions. Under Manara’s sunlight, the 2025 Lebanese Championship showcased the very best that triathlon has to offer: clean starts, steady-paced cycling, mentally tough runs, and that science of detail that decides a medal. Clubs showed up in full force, families too, and at the finish line — through both tears and smiles — the same story was told: the story of pushing beyond one’s limits.

Triathlon, Explained

A sport of total endurance, triathlon combines swimming, cycling, and running without pause, with athletes passing through two timed transition zones. Winning means balancing consistent segments, performing efficiently in the transition park, and staying mentally sharp for the final kilometer.

In Manara, the water, asphalt, and running loop were the deciding factors: those who managed their energy, accelerated at the right time, and moved swiftly through transitions climbed onto the podium.

Race Recap and Results

Men’s category:

Ali Al Zoobi (Army) took control right from the start and never let go, crossing the finish line with authority. Behind him, Rod Abo Ghazale (Army) built his silver medal on a strong bike segment before locking it down during the run, while Youssef Dandashi (PROFIT) completed a powerful podium, reflecting a field that grows denser every year.

Women’s category:

Consistency and precision led Lindzi Nader (PROFIT) to the national title. Ramona Khalife (Elite Team) chased hard until the end and secured silver, while Carole Boyadjian (Homenmen), solid across all three segments, earned a well-deserved bronze.

The next generation was present.

Samir Sabeh Ayoun won the U19 title with a non-stop race, while Marc Zaarour struck gold in U23, confirming his promise for the rest of the season.

Among the Masters, category victories served as key markers:

• Sami Majzoub (40–44)

• Hani Mehio (45–49)

• Marwan Matar (50–54)

• Elie Debbas (30–34)

• André Fadel (35–39)

Each triathlete followed his own tactical plan to reach the top of his division.

A Highlight and Symbol of Longevity

The 60+ category delivered an inspiring podium:

Roger Bitar claimed the title ahead of Ziad Boustany (2nd) and Sarkis Boghtchalian (3rd) — three seasoned champions who remind everyone that passion knows no age.

Lesson of the day in Manara: there’s no cheating with the triple test — water, asphalt, and running loop.

Al Zoobi and Nader set the tone; the pack follows. The season is underway, and it’ll take flawless races to dethrone them.
