Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem on Saturday thanked Iran for its continued support to Lebanon and the “resistance” during a meeting with the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, which was also attended by Iranian Ambassador to Beirut Mojtaba Amani.
During the meeting, Larijani reaffirmed Iran’s backing of Lebanon and its resistance, in line with the directives of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and with the support of the Iranian government and people, stressing that Tehran is ready to provide assistance at all levels.
For his part, Qassem said that “Lebanon remains steadfast in the face of US-Israeli threats and challenges,” adding that “Hezbollah is open to everyone and ready to cooperate in all forms with those who oppose the Israeli enemy.”
At a separate ceremony commemorating the assassination of Hassan Nasrallah on Saturday, Qassem also declared: “We refuse to be disarmed, and we will fight this battle as in Karbala.”
