Hours ahead of Friday afternoon’s Cabinet meeting, the Lebanese Army has increased its readiness level to 75%, focusing its forces on monitoring sensitive points. The Lebanese Army is reported to be stepping up its deployment in Beirut, the suburbs and on key roads to prevent any clashes.

Local broadcaster LBCI reported that strict directives prohibit any public gatherings, helping maintain what authorities describe as a calm and controlled atmosphere. The same sources denied rumors that the army had moved to 90% or 100% readiness or called up all officers and soldiers.

The 3:00 PM session will primarily discuss the Lebanese Army’s plan to disarm all militias in the country and ensure the state’s monopoly on weapons, a sensitive topic opposed by the Amal-Hezbollah bloc, whose ministers are expected to withdraw from the meeting.
