Israeli strikes on Sunday targeting Houthi sites in Sanaa killed 10 people and injured around 100, according to an updated toll announced Monday by the pro-iranian group.
The Houthis said the strikes hit “an oil company station” and a “power plant” in Sanaa, the Yemeni capital under their control.
Houthi Health Ministry spokesperson Anees Alasbahi posted on X a revised toll of “10 dead and 96 injured in the Zionist aggression.” A previous count had reported six dead and 86 injured.
The Israeli military said it had struck Houthi military sites, including the presidential palace and a fuel storage facility, in response to attacks by the “Houthi terrorist regime” against Israel.
Claiming to act in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza amid the Israel-Hamas war, the Houthis regularly launch missile and drone attacks toward Israeli territory, though most are intercepted.
The Houthis, who have controlled large parts of war-torn Yemen since 2014, are part of an Iran-backed alliance against Israel that includes groups such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Palestinian Hamas.
