Seven people were injured in an explosion that occurred on Monday in a residential building in the Pardisan neighborhood of Qom, central Iran, according to a report by Iran's semi-official Fars news agency cited by Reuters. The incident caused damage to four housing units.
The head of the local fire department said the blast appeared to have been caused by a gas leak, noting that investigations were ongoing to confirm the cause. He added that the residents affected were civilians, with no indication of any targeted attack.
According to Reuters, an unnamed source quoted by Fars dismissed speculation about foreign involvement, stating that the explosion had no link to Israeli operations. "There is no reason for concern over rumors of Israeli attacks," the source said.
Tensions between Iran and Israel have remained high following last month’s 12-day air war, during which Israel carried out strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. While several explosions have taken place across Iran since then, authorities have not attributed them to Israel.
