The widening regional conflict is increasingly affecting Gulf monarchies, as Iran’s retaliatory strikes target cities, military facilities, and energy infrastructure across the region following U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iranian territory.

Explosions Reported in Qatar

Explosions were heard over the Qatari capital, Doha, on Thursday, according to AFP journalists, as Iran continued its retaliation campaign on the sixth day of the escalating conflict.
Authorities in Qatar said air defense systems were intercepting incoming missile attacks as powerful blasts — described by AFP reporters as the most intense heard since the conflict began — echoed across the city.

No immediate details were released regarding the latest explosions, and it was not immediately clear whether the sounds were the result of interceptions of drones or missiles.

Earlier in the week, Qatari officials evacuated residents living near the U.S. embassy compound after previous attempted strikes were intercepted near Hamad International Airport, the country’s main aviation hub.

According to regional officials and international agencies, at least 13 people, including seven civilians, have been killed across Gulf countries since the war began.
Among the victims was an 11-year-old girl in Kuwait, highlighting the growing civilian toll as the conflict spreads beyond its initial theaters.

Incident in the United Arab Emirates

In the United Arab Emirates, authorities reported that falling debris from an intercepted Iranian drone injured six people in the capital, Abu Dhabi.

The UAE defense ministry says that one missile and six drones fell inside the country.

Drone Strike Reported in Azerbaijan

In a separate development, Azerbaijani media reported that a drone launched from Iranian territory struck an airport building in the Azerbaijani exclave of Nakhichevan, near Iran’s northwestern border.

According to reports, two drones crossed into Azerbaijani airspace on Thursday, with one crashing into the Nakhichevan airport and exploding. Images circulating on social media appeared to show smoke rising from the airport complex.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement condemning Iran’s attempt to target Azerbaijan and says the Islamic Republic’s actions are unjustifiable. Turkey's foreign ministry on Thursday also condemned a series of drone attacks on Azerbaijan, calling for such attacks to end "immediately.”

Iran's armed forces on Thursday denied having launched a drone attack on Azerbaijan. "The Islamic republic of Iran... denies its armed forces launched a drone toward the Republic of Azerbaijan," the general staff of the armed forces said in a statement, according to state TV, which also blamed Israel.

"Such actions by the Zionist regime, aimed at disrupting relations between Muslim countries in various ways, are not unprecedented."

Attack on Oil Facility in Bahrain

Bahrain’s Interior Ministry said that a facility in an industrial area housing an oil refinery was attacked, with reports of smoke rising from the area. Officials stated that the fire at the facility was contained.

Bahrain also said that it intercepted two ballistic missiles originating from Iran.
