
The Lebanese Army announced on Wednesday the arrest of four individuals involved in an armed parade that took place last Friday in the Zuqaq al-Blat neighborhood of Beirut, during the commemoration of Ashoura.
Armed men had marched through the streets, sparking outrage among residents and drawing official condemnation.
In a statement released in the morning, the military specified that a first suspect had been apprehended on Monday, followed by further arrests carried out by the intelligence services. The arrests took place in Beirut and Ain Qana (Nabatiyeh), and involved the citizens M.A.R., his brother M.A.R., as well as M.Kh. and A.G.
An investigation has been opened under the supervision of the competent judiciary to shed full light on the circumstances of the incident.
