“Iran's main nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally destroyed,” Donald Trump announced at a press conference at 10pm EST, (5am Lebanese time).
According to the US president, the operation was “a spectacular military success”.
“Our goal was to destroy Iran's nuclear enrichment capability and end the nuclear threat posed by the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism,” he added. "Iran killed our fellow citizens, we lost thousands of people, many of them killed by Qassem Soleimani. I decided a long time ago that this would not continue."
Donald Trump threatened Tehera directly. "Iran, the tyrant of the Middle East, must now make peace. If it doesn't, future attacks will be far greater."
