A senior Hamas official told CNN that the Palestinian militant group has agreed to release between 7 and 9 Israeli hostages in exchange for a 60-day ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of 300 Palestinian security prisoners, according to a report by The Times of Israel.
The unnamed Hamas official says that this deal would also be contingent on the Israeli army agreeing to withdraw “east of the Salah al-Din Corridor,” meaning to the outskirts of the Gaza Strip.
The report does not indicate whether this has been put forward as a formal proposal during the ongoing negotiations in Qatar.
