A fire broke out in the middle of the night at a camp for displaced Syrians in the town of Khirbet Daoud in Akkar (northern Lebanon), where approximately 37 tents were engulfed in flames.

Damage was limited to the destruction of identity papers belonging to several residents.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

n April, villages along the plain and border strip on the Lebanese side of the Grand River in Akkar Governorate saw a relative increase in the number of displaced people arriving from Syrian coastal towns, villages, and cities.

According to a report published by the Disaster and Crisis Management Unit, headed by Akkar Governor Imad al-Labaki, the number of displaced families in Akkar Governorate from March 10 to April 15 reached 4,515—including 172 Lebanese families—bringing the total number of displaced people to 22,331 across 28 towns and villages.
