Minister of Interior Ahmad al-Hajjar ruled out on Tuesday any manipulation of the counting process of the municipal elections in Tripoli. He noted that the ballot boxes for the mukhtar vote have been completed, while the counting for municipal councils is underway.

Speaking from the Justice Palace in Tripoli, Hajjar stated that he is closely monitoring the ongoing vote counting for the municipal elections, and acknowledged that the process has taken considerable time.

“We will soon receive the final results of the mukhtars’ vote to be announced officially,” stated Hajjar. “There were some observations during the process, and we found out that the registration committees were documenting all of them,” he added.

Hajjar emphasized that the results being finalized are credible and stem directly from the official registration committees.

“The counting is conducted in three stages, which underscores the integrity and transparency of the electoral process,” he added.
