
President Joseph Aoun departed from Rafic Hariri International Airport this afternoon, accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Youssef Raji, on a two-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in response to an invitation from UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During the visit, President Aoun is scheduled to meet with the UAE President and senior Emirati officials.
Prior to his departure, President Aoun received a letter from the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The letter, delivered by Yassin Al-Majid, the chargé d'affaires of the Kuwaiti Embassy in Lebanon, contained an official invitation for the President to visit Kuwait on May 11–12, 2025.
The Emir’s letter emphasized the importance of strengthening historical ties between Kuwait and Lebanon, stating, “I am pleased to invite Your Excellency to visit Kuwait on May 11–12, 2025, to further enhance our cooperation. This meeting would help advance mutual interests and strengthen the bond between our two nations. I wish Lebanon continued progress and prosperity, and lasting success for Your Excellency.”
