In response, Lebanese Army units deployed to the area and imposed exceptional security measures aimed at restoring stability and preventing further escalation. Raids were carried out, and surveillance and tracking operations were launched by the Intelligence Directorate to identify those responsible for the gunfire.
The crackdown led to the arrest of a suspect identified as A.A., who is believed to be involved in the shooting incident and affiliated with an armed group known for its smuggling activities along the border.
Simultaneously, the Lebanese Army Command initiated urgent communications with Syrian authorities to contain the situation and prevent further deterioration. These efforts proved effective in de-escalating tensions between the two sides.
Meanwhile, Lebanese military units continue to enforce strict security protocols in the region and are actively pursuing additional suspects linked to the incident.
