On March 26, 2025, at 6:00 PM, the Saints Cœurs Ain Najm school will present a theatrical performance inspired by L’Ennemi, un livre pour la paix, as part of Francophonie Week. The event will be attended by Lebanon’s Minister of Culture, Dr. Ghassan Salameh, and the French Ambassador to Lebanon, H.E. Hervé Magro.

Sometimes, a small book can spark a profound change. During the Christmas holidays, what seemed like a simple children’s book, L’Ennemi, un livre pour la paix turned out to be a deep source of inspiration. With its delicate illustrations and powerful, minimalist text, this book moved readers with its humanity and impact. What began as a personal encounter with its message soon evolved into a school-wide artistic and educational project, bringing its words to life on stage through the voices of tenth-grade students.

This is how the idea for the play emerged: a passionate call for peace, built on the belief that art holds the innate power to educate, awaken and transform minds. The school chose to integrate this event into Francophonie Week, highlighting the essential role of language as a tool for communication, openness, dialogue and shared humanity.

The performance will take place in the Jean-Paul II Hall in the presence of distinguished guests. Dr. Ghassan Salameh and Ambassador Hervé Magro will stand alongside the students, lending their support to this meaningful artistic initiative.

In addition to the play, ninth-grade students will read from their personal journals in a special segment titled Murmures d’écoliers… entre crainte et espérance. These readings offer a more intimate reflection on the theme of peace, showing how it resonates in the students’ own lives and emotions.

This project reflects a core belief: young people need sensitive, meaningful touchstones to help them see the world differently. Theater becomes a powerful space where essential human questions can be explored beyond rigid discourse. It allows for honest, heartfelt expression, driven by emotion, connection and the will to shape a better future. This book, now brought to life on stage, reminds us that the real enemy is not always who we think, and that peace begins with listening.
