“Due to the funeral processions announced for that day, US citizens are also requested to exercise caution near any large gatherings.”
The US Embassy also asked its citizens to “monitor local media and embassy website for updates” as well as to follow instructions from local authorities.
These recommendations come following the announcement of a large public gathering scheduled for February 23 at Beirut's Sports City for the funeral of both former Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah and Hashem Safieddine, who were killed on September 27 and October 3, respectively.
