President Joseph Aoun expressed satisfaction over the new government formation, congratulating its president, Nawaf Salam, and the ministers. He wished them success in their new roles.
According to the National News Agency, the president emphasized that the government, dubbed the "Government of Reform and Rescue," was formed in accordance with the criteria agreed upon with Nawaf Salam. He stressed that the most important criterion was the absence of ministers representing political parties. "Competence, experience and specialization were the key factors in their selection, alongside their professional backgrounds and reputations," Aoun noted.
He further explained that these criteria ensured the creation of a "homogeneous and united" team, one that will work collaboratively to meet the hopes of the Lebanese people for a better future.
"The government members may not be partisan, but they will undoubtedly serve all Lebanese citizens, as their sole objective is the best interest of Lebanon," President Aoun concluded.
