Following the withdrawal of Israeli forces, the Lebanese Army (LAF) announced Monday that its units had started deploying to take up positions in towns in the western and central sectors, including Ras al-Naqoura, Alma al-Shaab, Tayr Harfa-Tyre, Beit Liv-Tyre, and Beit Liv-Bint Jbeil.
“While the deployment is being completed in Naqoura, specialized units are continuing the engineering survey in order to remove unexploded ordnance, open roads, and remove rubble,” the LAF said in a statement posted on the X platform.

According to LAF, these steps come in coordination with UNIFIL and the five-member monitoring committee to supervise the ceasefire.

The Army Command also called on citizens not to approach the area and to abide by the instructions of the military units until the deployment ends.

Earlier Monday, LAF had deployed at the entrance of Tayr Harfa.

The Lebanese Army is also preparing to take up position in Aita al-Shaab for the first time since the November 27 ceasefire was concluded between Hezbollah and Israel.

On the other hand, Israeli forces conducted a detonation between Ramia, Al-Qouzah, and Aita al-Shaab in addition to a sweeping operation after a Lebanese Army patrol was ready to move towards Al-Qouzah, Al-Salhani, and Aita al-Shaab to examine several of its locations.

Following Israeli raids on the Bekaa Valley in the fields of Ramyeh al-Taybeh, east of Baalbek, a LAF unit exploded residual rockets.
