On Wednesday morning, the Israeli army launched a raid on the Aïnata area of Bint Jbeil, killing one person and wounding another.
Meanwhile, as the Lebanese army (LAF) attempted to re-enter its positions in Khiam, it was confronted by Israeli forces, preventing the LAF from entering the northern quarters of the village.
Earlier in the morning, and in a move paving the way for effective implementation of the ceasefire agreement, a patrol from the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) entered Khiam to prepare the ground for the forthcoming deployment of the Lebanese army north of the village, as a first step towards its full deployment in the region. However, in order to do so, the patrol had to ensure that Israeli forces have completely withdrawn from the northern and western quarters of the village.
The first phase of deployment began with engineering teams entering the northern part of Khiam, accompanied by bulldozers, to inspect and clear remnants of rockets, shells and unexploded ordnance, as well as to facilitate the withdrawal of the Israeli army.
A UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) team entered Khiam earlier in the day to verify the Israeli army’s withdrawal from the northern and western neighborhoods.
Wednesday morning, a #UNIFIL unit arrived in #Khiam to verify that the Israeli army's withdrawal from the northern and western quarters has been completed, in preparation for the entry of a Lebanese army force and engineering regiment.

The Lebanese army also announced plans to detonate unexploded ordnance in the Qlayleh area between 8:30 AM and 12:00 PM.
Israeli Army Warns Southern Residents
The Israeli army reiterated its warnings to residents of southern Lebanese villages.
In a statement on his X account, Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee wrote, “Until further notice, it is prohibited to move southward to the following villages and their surroundings: Shebaa, Hebbariyeh, Marjayoun, Arnoun, Yohmor, Qantara, Shaqra, Braachit, Yater, Mansouri.”
Adraee also listed additional villages where movement is restricted, including Khiam, Naqoura, Bint Jbeil, Rmeish, Maroun al-Ras and several others. He warned that anyone moving south of a designated line “puts themselves at risk.”
