The Israeli military said on Saturday that it had struck "military infrastructure" at the Syria-Lebanon border being used by Hezbollah for weapons smuggling “in violation” of their ceasefire agreement.
The air force launched a "strike on military infrastructure sites adjacent to border crossings between Syria and Lebanon that were actively used by Hezbollah to smuggle weapons from Syria into Lebanon," the military said in a statement. It said the smuggling happened "after the ceasefire agreement went into effect."
The airstrike occurred on the fourth day following the ceasefire, and targeted the Jousieh crossing and the villages of al-Jubaniyah and al-Hawz in the southern countryside of Homs.
On another hand, Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee announced that the Israeli Army confiscated combat equipment inside a mosque used by Hezbollah operatives. He did not specify the area.
Adraee also stated that the Israeli Army “worked to remove suspects from the southern Lebanon area.”
Moreover, an Israeli drone targeted a pickup truck in the town of Majdal Zoun in the western sector. The vehicle was parked with no occupants inside, but there were minor injuries reported outside the car.
More than 72 Lebanese border towns remain off-limits to Lebanese citizens, according to the Israeli Army.
On Saturday morning, Adraee issued again an “urgent announcement to the residents of Lebanon,” stating that “until further notice, it is prohibited to move southward to several villages and their surroundings along the border.”
He claimed that “the Israeli Army do not intend to target” them, but that “anyone crossing south of this line will be putting themselves in danger.”
Overnight, Israel fired heavy machine gun rounds toward Maroun al-Ras and neighborhoods in Bint Jbeil overnight.
Moreover, the Israeli Army combed the vicinity of the towns of Bani Hayyan and Markaba in the South overnight using machine guns.
Additionally, former War Cabinet Israeli Minister Benny Gantz said that “the current ceasefire arrangement with Hezbollah is based on the possibility that Israel might have to resume fighting.”
The death toll from the conflict has reached 3,961 as of November 28. Over the past 24 hours, civil defense teams retrieved the bodies of several people killed in Beirut’s southern suburb and southern Lebanon, particularly in Nabatiyeh.
Shortly before midnight, reconnaissance and drone aircraft hovered over the villages in the western and central sectors.
Israeli gunfire also targeted the outskirts of the village of Qabrikha and the Wadi al-Slouqi area.
The Israeli Army launched flares over the Marjayoun plain, extending to Hamames Hill.
A drone carried out a missile strike on Wati al-Khiam.
The Lebanese Army and civil associations have warned of the dangers posed by cluster bombs, unexploded rockets and shells in areas surrounding targeted sites and buildings.
Despite a steady increase in the return of displaced individuals — estimated at over 80% in some areas — border villages have seen a return rate of less than 10%. This is due to ongoing Israeli attacks, a lack of habitable homes and infrastructure, and the absence of urgent necessities such as water and electricity.
