The caretaker Minister of Interior, Bassam Mawlawi, announced that "the Commander-in-Chief of the Army, General Joseph Aoun, has briefed the ministers on the broad outlines of the Lebanese Armed Forces' deployment plan in South Lebanon. The plan, which will be executed in three phases, aims to ensure both the return of Lebanese citizens and the security of the territory."

During a press conference on Thursday, Mawlawi stated that "the presence of displaced persons in schools ended a few hours ago, and security forces are overseeing their departure. All necessary measures have been implemented to avoid traffic congestion in the affected areas." He added, "We have not had any incidents."

"We have issued the necessary instructions to security forces to conduct patrols assisting in the safe return of Lebanese citizens and maintaining security across all regions of Lebanon," Mawlawi explained. He noted that "over the past 66 days, only 150 minor incidents have been reported. These were promptly addressed, demonstrating the efficiency of the security services."

Addressing the recent incidents of celebratory gunfire on Wednesday, Mawlawi urged citizens to "help us restore the state. Firing in the air undermines civil peace and can lead to serious casualties. The security services will closely monitor this issue to ensure the safety of the Lebanese people."

Mawlawi also emphasized that "the primary challenge now is to preserve Lebanese areas and ensure the safe return and reconstruction process without encroaching on public or private property." He continued, "We will hold a meeting with the governorates to establish a framework to protect these properties once the reconstruction process begins."

Finally, the caretaker minister reassured the Lebanese public, stating that "Syrian General Security is preventing anyone from entering Lebanon illegally; Syrians are only allowed entry through official crossing points."

He also added that "cooperation between the security services and the judiciary is at its peak, particularly concerning the encroachments that occurred during the war."
