An Israeli attack on a house in Ain Yaacoub village, in the governorate of Akkar, killed 16 people, according to the Ministry of Public Health. Ten others were wounded. The airstrike targeted a three-story building where a number of displaced people from the southern town of Arabsalim were staying. As four people were recovered alive, a number of missing persons remain under the rubble.
The Ministry also reported that eleven individuals were killed and seven others were injured in another raid on a home in Saksakiya, a town in the caza of Saida.
Moreover, three people were killed when Israeli fighter planes targeted a house in Maidoun, a town in western Beqaa.
In southern Lebanon, an Israeli strike targeted a house near an old mosque in Nabatiye al-Faouqa, and completely destroyed it.
A violent raid was reported between the towns of Ramadi and Siddiqin in the Tyre district, in addition to an attack on the Qalawiya tower and bombardment of the outskirts of Khiam prison.
In the Beqaa, the village of Hosh al-Sayyed Ali in the Hermel area was the target of an Israeli attack, while raids were reported on Shmestar, Taraya, and al-Saeeda.
Israeli shelling came after Hezbollah claimed responsibility for strikes on Avivim, facing Maroun al-Ras, on Monday afternoon, with drones and artillery ammunition.
The pro-Iranian group announced that it had targeted “gatherings of Israeli soldiers positioned in the Abad site, opposing the Lebanese village of Hula (Marjeyoun), with missile salvos,” and the villages of Safed, Maalot-Tarshiha, and Karmiel with a “major salvo of missiles.”
Al-Hadath Saudi television reported that Hezbollah fired around 90 rockets at Haifa and its outskirts on Monday. It stated that this attack is “the largest since the beginning of the war.” The missiles fired from Lebanon landed in Kriot, north of Haifa, causing extensive damage and starting fires in several areas around the city. According to Israeli media, “several people were injured.”
Haaretz Israeli daily reported that “around 50 rockets were fired from Lebanon into northern Israeli territory on Monday morning,” and that a woman was “seriously wounded” in Biina, near Karmiel, by a shrapnel.
Furthermore, rockets were launched from southern Lebanon towards Nahariya, Acre, and al-Karyut.
For its part, the Israeli Army announced that a total of 15 soldiers were wounded on the Lebanese front in the last 24 hours.
