Caretaker Minister of Education Abbas Halabi confirmed that “the academic year will start next Monday, November 4.”
Halabi said he had discussed all the preparations and the contacts made to move forward with the start of the school year, after meeting with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri on Tuesday.
In a statement, he added, “I gave the Speaker an overview of the data we have in hand, particularly the number of teachers and students registered on our ministry’s platform.”
He went on to emphasize the significance of integrating in-person and distance learning “in a way that provides a possibility for all students who have not yet enrolled in the educational process to do so.”
“We also discussed how to distribute attendance education in available public schools that are vacant,” he continued. “Whether in public or private education, our ministry’s objective is to pave the way for all students in all parts of the Lebanese Republic to enroll in formal education,” he said.
