Caretaker Minister of Education Abbas Halabi released Circular No. 40/M/2024 on Monday, announcing new guidelines for the 2024-2025 school year.
The circular addresses the significant displacement of students and educational staff, the closure of schools in the most dangerous areas, and the use of schools as shelters for the displaced. .
Key requirements for private schools that have begun or are planning to start classes include:
- Obtaining approval from the parents' committee before initiating teaching.
- Implementing in-person, blended, or online education based on the prevailing security conditions, the geographical location of each school, and parental preferences.
As private schools prepare for the upcoming academic year, Halabi stressed the importance of ensuring the safety of students, educational staff, and all members of the school community during this challenging time.
The minister emphasized the necessity of adhering to these guidelines, particularly regarding the voluntary nature of the chosen teaching method for students until the conflict subsides and such measures are no longer needed.
