The Central Administration of Statistics (CAS) reported on Monday that Lebanon’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) fell by 0.18% in September 2024 compared to August 2024, marking the first decrease in over a year.
In contrast, record inflation was observed in 2023, with the CPI surging 33.27% in March and 5.35% in May.
Despite the slight monthly drop, the index was still up 32.92% compared to September 2023, CAS noted.
The largest price declines were recorded in Nabatiyeh (-0.77%), followed by South Lebanon (-0.34%), Bekaa (-0.28%), Mount Lebanon (-0.22%), North Lebanon (-0.17%) and Beirut (0.01%).
