Six people were killed and eight others injured in an Israeli drone strike early Monday morning, targeting a building in the densely populated Nabi Inaam neighborhood of Baalbeck.

The Israeli army was targeting the home of Ali Abdo Othman. Among the victims were women and children.

In the early morning, rescue workers arrived at the scene to clear the rubble, retrieve bodies, and search for survivors while Civil Defense teams worked to extinguish the fire caused by the raid.

Southern Lebanon

Southern Lebanon was subjected to heavy raids throughout the night, primarily targeting branches of Qard al-Hassan, Hezbollah’s illegal financial institution.

The Israeli army targeted a warehouse in the town of Jezzine for the first time since the onset of the war.

Raids also hit the areas of Habbouch, Ansar, Soujoud, Kfar Joz, Yater, Siddiqine, Malkiya, and Khiam.

Bekaa Valley

In the Bekaa Valley, strikes targeted Sohmor and the Bednayel plain following a night of intense violence, during which at least twelve Israeli strikes targeted branches of Qard el-Hassan in Beirut’s southern suburbs.

The targeted neighborhoods included Haret Hreik, Tahwitat al-Ghadir, Hay al-Sellom, Ghobeiri, Bourj al-Barajneh, Mreijeh, and Choueifat. Some raids were also carried out near Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport.

Raids targeting Hezbollah’s illegal financial institution were also carried out in the Bekaa Valley, including Baalbeck’s old souk, Ali al-Nahri, and Hermel.

Branches in Southern Lebanon were also hit, particularly in Aqibiyeh, south of Saida, Humin al-Fawqa, and Nabatiyeh.

The vast majority of these strikes took place after the Israeli army issued more than 30 evacuation orders for residents to leave areas near branches of this institution, which is under US sanctions.

Renewed Attack on UNIFIL

The UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon accused the Israeli army of “deliberately” destroying a “watchtower” belonging to the Blue Helmets in Southern Lebanon, according to a statement released Sunday evening. This claim follows a series of strikes targeting UNIFIL positions, which raised international protests and warnings against Israel.

Hezbollah Retaliates Overnight

Hezbollah claimed responsibility for several nighttime strikes on northern Israel. It announced having downed an Israeli Hormuz 900 drone on Monday morning.

The pro-Iranian group also claimed to have targeted several gatherings of Israeli soldiers in Odem, Kiryat Shmona, Malkiya, Markaba, and Jabal Kahil in the town of Maroun al-Ras.

According to Israeli Channel 12, “40 missiles were fired at Karmiel in Upper Galilee from Lebanon” on Monday morning.

The Israeli army, in turn, announced in a statement that it had targeted a “Hezbollah group” that had fired rockets on northern Israel.

According to Haaretz, the Israeli army also destroyed “dozens of rocket launchers” in Southern Lebanon overnight, as well as a “weapons warehouse.”

The Israeli army’s Arabic spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, said Monday morning on his X account that “the Israeli army continued its ground operations in Southern Lebanon, where it found and destroyed Hezbollah weapons stockpiles, including anti-tank missiles, launch platforms aimed at northern Israel, RPG launchers, explosives, grenades, ammunition chargers, and other military equipment.”
