Civil Defense personnel continue to be the target of Israeli strikes. According to provisional figures, eight rescue workers were killed shortly before midnight on Wednesday in an Israeli strike on a Civil Defense barracks in Derdghaya. Search operations are currently underway to find the missing persons.
For its part, the israeli army also announced that it had detected 40 rockets launched from lebanon towards Upper Galilee, some were intercepted.
Two Israeli civilians were killed in a Hezbollah rocket attack on Kiryat Shmona, northern Israel, Wednesday, marking the first civilian deaths since the conflict intensified last month, according to the “Times of Israel”. Hezbollah claimed responsibility, stating the attack targeted "enemy forces" near the city.
In Lebanon, the Israeli army targeted on Thursday morning the Lebanon-Syria border in Hosh al-Sayyid Ali, Hermel.
Moreover, residents of Beirut's southern suburbs and the Bekaa Valley witnessed yet another night of Israeli airstrikes.
Southern Suburbs
On Thursday at dawn, Israeli warplanes conducted three airstrikes on the Haret Hreik area in the southern suburbs amid intense drone activity over Beirut and various other regions.
The strikes were carried out an hour after the Israeli army issued “a warning to residents, urging them to evacuate the buildings.”
The Israeli military announced that "the Air Force carried out precision strikes last night, targeting Hezbollah’s weapons depots and military equipment in Beirut and the south."
It also confirmed that it had "successfully killed Ahmed Mustafa Ali, responsible for launching rockets from Hezbollah toward the north, and Mohammed Ali, the commander of Hezbollah’s anti-tank unit in Mays al-Jabal."
Bekaa
During the night, Israeli warplanes struck a building in Hafir Budai, west of Baalbek, killing four members of the Shamas and Alouh families. One critically injured person was taken to Dar Al-Amal Hospital. Airstrikes also hit Sohmor, killing two, resulting in extensive damage to homes in Meidoun.
South
Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes on Khiam, while Aita al-Shaab faced artillery shelling overnight. Airstrikes also hit Kfar Kila and Blida amid ground clashes. A midnight airstrike on Matariya in Zahrani injured six people, mostly with minor to moderate injuries, with one serious case. The injured were taken to Faqih Hospital by the Islamic Scouts volunteers.
The Lebanese Public Health Emergency Authority announced a death toll reaching 2,141 killed and 10,099 wounded since the start of the aggression, with Wednesday’s toll at 22 killed and 80 wounded.
Israel
The Israeli army announced today the death of First Sergeant (Reserve) Roni Ganetsit, a 5030th Battalion fighter, during clashes in southern Lebanon on October 9, 2024. Another soldier was seriously wounded.
Israeli media reported 38 soldiers injured in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 11 dead and 168 wounded since the start of the limited ground incursion.
