The situation in Lebanon continues to escalate, with intensified Israeli bombardments targeting various regions, particularly the southern suburbs of Beirut and south Lebanon.
Attacks on Beirut’s Southern Suburbs
The southern suburbs of Beirut faced a severe wave of Israeli airstrikes overnight, with over 25 hitting the area. This bombardment commenced shortly after the Israeli army issued nearly five evacuation notices for various locations, including Bourj al-Barajneh and Haret Hreik. The airstrikes primarily focused on Bourj al-Barajneh, Ghobeiry and Choueifat.
Attacks on Southern Lebanon
Israeli artillery and aircraft have been relentlessly targeting southern Lebanon since last evening. Artillery fire hit the town of Kfar Kila and the outskirts of Bourj al-Malouk and Khiam. Around midnight, Israeli airstrikes targeted Jibshit and the outskirts of Zefta and Mifdoun, with artillery also striking Naqoura and Jabal al-Labounneh, including two consecutive hits on Khiam.
Attacks on Bekaa
Reports indicated an Israeli strike on Douris, east of Baalbeck, earlier today.
Toll From Saturday’s Strikes
23 people were killed and 93 were injured during Israeli raids that struck across Lebanon on Saturday, according to the Ministry of Health.
In the North Governorate, the strikes resulted in the deaths of four individuals. As for the Mount Lebanon Governorate, two people were killed and 30 were injured, with human remains that have not yet been identified.
In Nabatieh, the Israeli strikes led to the deaths of nine people and 14 injured. In the South Governorate, five people were killed and 38 were injured. Four women were killed in an airstrike on the Nabi Younis neighborhood in the coastal city of Jiyeh in Iqlim al-Kharoub.
In the Bekaa Governorate, the raids resulted in three deaths and nine injuries, while two people were injured in the Baalbeck-Hermel region.
Hezbollah Responds
Hezbollah targeted the Shamshon base and Israeli soldier positions in the Bayad Blida site, as well as gatherings of Israeli soldiers in the Manara settlement. They also claimed to have ambushed Israeli soldiers attempting to infiltrate the outskirts of the town of Odaisseh, resulting in the death and injury of approximately 15 Israeli soldiers.
An Israeli force attempted to infiltrate Khellat Shuaib in Blida and Hezbollah claimed that they ambushed them, forcing them to retreat and inflicting confirmed casualties.
