- UN: 'No Military Solution Will Make Either Side Safer'
Amid rising tensions after the increasing fire exchange between Hezbollah and Israel, the UN Special Coordinator to Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, reiterated on Sunday that “no military solution will make either side safer, as the region is on the brink of an imminent catastrophe.”
On Friday, the UN issued the same warning through Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric.
Dujarric warned that the region is now “on the brink of a catastrophe.” Her statements came after the Security Council held an emergency session in response to Israeli attacks on Lebanon.
