For the first time in Lebanon, the renowned dance group Mayyas, winners of America's Got Talent 2022, will perform live on the Beirut Waterfront stage on August 1, 2024, with an 80-minute theatrical dance performance titled "Koumi" ("Rise").

There is no need to elaborate on the iconic alternative dance group "Mayyas," derived from "Maas," which means "a slender silhouette" in Arabic. The group, composed exclusively of Lebanese women and consisting of 36 dancers, is excellently and skillfully directed by its choreographer and founder, Nadim Cherfan.
In 2019, the Mayyas reached the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions and won first place in Arabs Got Talent. In 2022, they won the 17th season of America’s Got Talent and also received the Golden Buzzer from judge Sofía Vergara. Their spectacular journey makes Lebanon proud.

Praised on social media by their fellow countrymen and dance enthusiasts in several countries, the dancers have sparked great enthusiasm among the Lebanese. They were awarded the Lebanese Order of Merit "in recognition of the troupe’s artistic performances and success." Their success and talent were recognized by American singer Beyoncé, who invited the troupe to perform with her at the opening of Atlantis The Royal Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, adding another impressive achievement to their record.
“ Koumi”  ("Rise") a Theatrical Dance Show
For the first time in Lebanon and after an international tour, the Mayyas troupe presents a theatrical and dance show "Rise," characterized by mystical and imaginative scenes on the theme of a people’s dream and a country’s resilience. This 80-minute performance, taking place on August 1 at the Beirut Waterfront, promises to be a fusion of grand visual effects and breathtaking music, offering the audience a unique and enchanting experience.
Attending a Mayyas show is much more than watching a simple dance performance. It is a dive into a world of creativity, passion, and artistic expression that celebrates Lebanese culture and resilience. Every movement, every gesture is an ode to determination and strength, embodying the spirit of a people who rise and shine despite challenges.
An exceptional opportunity to see the Mayyas live, not to be missed, to feel the magic of their performance and celebrate with them the triumph of Lebanese art and culture on the international stage.
