An Israeli raid targeted a car near the village of al-Borgholiyeh north of Tyre on Tuesday, as cross-border fire exchanges between Israel and Hezbollah resumed following a two-day undeclared pause. Initial reports said the driver was injured in the attack.
The Israeli army also shelled the Shebaa valley in the Hasbaya district and the outskirts of the town of Rachaya al-Foukhar, igniting fires in the two localities.
Reports indicate that the Arqoub Primary Health Care Center, run by the international Amel Association, was also shelled, resulting in significant material damage.
After two days of an undeclared truce during which no significant operations were carried out, Hezbollah announced that it had targeted a Merkava tank inside the Hadab Yarine site with a kamikaze drone, hitting it directly.
The Israeli media said Tuesday that missiles were launched from southern Lebanon towards northern Israel and that some were intercepted in Nahariya. They said a fire broke out in Mitzvah in the Western Galilee, and that sirens sounded in Arab al-Aramsha and its surroundings for fear of a drone infiltrating from Lebanon.
On Tuesday, an Israeli military official stated that they “succeeded in eliminating the threat of Hezbollah invading large areas in the Galilee, and Hezbollah was forced to withdraw its forces 8 km into Lebanese territory.”
“The battle on the northern front is often defensive, however the (targeted) assassination of its officials caused confusion and direct harm to Hezbollah,” the Israeli official said, as reported by Al Hadath TV.
“Hezbollah’s military capabilities on the border are modest and not the same as before October 7,” the Israeli official added.
