A Lebanese soldier, on guard duty in the vicinity of the Port of Beirut, was found shot dead on the night of 13 to 14 June, an army statement said Friday.
The statement revealed that the soldier was found dead with two gunshot wounds from a handgun, and that his weapon was missing.
“Specialized army units examined the crime scene, and an investigation was launched to determine the circumstances of the incident,” the statement added.
According to information the dead soldier, who hails from the town of Barja, was identified by his initials only.
